So Adam and I were feeling the itch to go on a weekend trip, but weren't sure where. Then like the next day, our friends Jared and Heather Klepko invited us to go down to New Orleans with them for Mardi Gras weekend. It was so much fun!!!! We had no clue what to expect, but it was seriously amazing. We stayed at Jared's grandma's house which was empty. Awesome! The Klepko's took us downtown to walk around the French Quarter. We ate at Cafe du Monde which is the famous beignet place. It was soooo good. Then we walked around downtown and on Bourbon Street. It was really fun getting to see where all the excitement happens. It's a pretty cool city.

The rest of the time we were there we were enjoying the parades! They were so cool. The parades are about 20 floats long with people lined up on both sides of the float throwing stuff out to the crowd. Peyton got so much stuff! Everyone on the floats wanted to give her beads or stuffed animals. We came home with way more stuff than we left with. In New Orleans, the kids sit on top of these special ladders that have a box seat on top so that they are high enough for the people to throw stuff to them. The Klepko's have a ladder so Peyton got to sit in it for a while and she LOVED it. Adam was also loving the parades. He, Jared, and I went to Endymion downtown on Saturday night while Heather watched the kids and it was my favorite parade. Adam is a natural at getting the good stuff from the float people. He got frisbees, footballs, everything. I got my own share of fun stuff and then Jared.... well he got thrown a half eaten sandwich and a fake pile of poop. It was HILARIOUS! The guys on the float were picking on poor Jared.

We had so much fun down there and hope that we get the chance to do it again someday. We really want to take my family because I think they would love it!
